meet Brinsley Black Bear, my representation of a very young black bear cub, still sporting his baby pink nose and paw pads, white chest patch - and those impossibly large ears. cut from a rich, dense black faux fur, Brinsley is 21” long, and has antique pink trapunto leather paw pads, leather claws, eyelids and a sewn and sculpted leather nose. he is not stuffed, but assembled over a complex internal armature, with steel rod-jointed shoulders and hips, a flexible neck and spine along with multiple joints in his legs and paws. Brinsley can be played with and posed like a real bear. because bears love to rumble through the trash, Brinsley comes with his own personalized 'tin' can of Bear Bottom Baked Beans. made of metallic siver leather with a vintage label screened onto antique linen, the can has wire sewn into the upper rim for more posing fun
